In this blog post, we’ll take a closer look at Shinchan’s mysterious character, Shinko.

Shinko-chan (しんこちゃん Shinko-chan) is a very unique character from the Shinchan series.

Shinko made her debut appearance in episode 651b and has appeared approximately 7 or 8 times since then.

Personality ~

Shinko-chan’s demeanor can be described as slightly creepy, making her stand out from the other characters.

Unlike Shin-chan, Shinko-chan possesses distinct qualities that set her apart. She is known for her tactfulness and empathy, which contrast with Shin-chan’s more mischievous and straightforward nature. Shinko-chan has the ability to see the good qualities in people she meets.

It’s worth noting that Shinko-chan’s behavior can be unpredictable and at times, unnatural, adding to her mysterious allure within the Shinchan series

Background~

Not much known about Shinko, but it is believed that she came from a wealthy background, having servants and even a time machine that allows her to revisit Shinchan’s past when he was 5 years old.

Appearance ~

She shares the same facial features as Shin-chan. She usually wears a blue dress with a white collar and pocket on her dress.

Time Travel ~

Shinko’s origin remains a mystery, but she possesses a time machine that allows her to travel back to when Shinchan was 5 years old. There are various theories about her time-traveling mechanism:

1. Some speculate that the dark clouds accompanying her are, in fact, her time machine.

2. Another theory suggests that she might use a toilet as her time machine since there was a flushing sound when she disappeared in one episode.

3. There’s also a theory that the cafe where she’s often seen at the end of episodes, accompanied by another mysterious person, could be her time machine.

These different theories add an intriguing layer of mystery to Shinko’s character in the Shinchan series.

Origin ~

Shinko-chan’s origin is a mystery, but there are several theories about it.

Some popular ones are listed below :

1. Shinchan and Tamiko’s Daughter ~

This idea says that Shinko might be Shin-chan and Tamiko’s future child. In the movie “Crayon Shin-chan: Super-Dimension! The Storm Called My Bride,” it showed that Tamiko could be Shin-chan’s future wife. Later, when Tamiko’s dad got arrested, she could have become rich by inheriting his company, which is why Shinko has servants and a time machine.

Interestingly, her name “Shinko” seems to be a mix of “Shin” and “ko,” blending Shin-chan’s name with Tamiko, making this theory even more interesting. Both Tamiko and Shinko have time machines and similar-looking hair.

There are rumors that this movie occurs in a different dimension, as its title, “Crayon Shin-chan: Super-Dimension! The Storm Called My Bride,” suggests. In the movie’s conclusion, the meteorite’s trajectory changes, avoiding Earth, which could imply the creation of an alternate timeline. Additionally, in the movie “Crayon Shin-chan: Action Mask vs. Leotard Devil,” we witnessed two distinct worlds – one being the regular world and the other where Haigure began his rule, highlighting the possibility of multiple dimensions within the Shin-chan universe.

2. Future Himawari ~

It’s possible that Shinko is Himawari from the future because when Shin-chan first met Shinko, he thought she was Himawari. Shinko’s appearance, including her facial features and hair color, is similar to Himawari’s. Additionally, Shinko and Himawari share many similarities, such as their love for shiny objects and even a shared interest in a caterpillar toy.

And at the end of “Crayon Shin-chan: Super-Dimension! The Storm Called My Bride,” Shinchan and his friends used Tamiko’s time machine to return to their world. When they got back home, Himawari took the time machine from Shinchan and played with it. This could suggest that Himawari kept the time machine and might use it to travel back to the past in the future.

3.  Ai Chan and Shinchan’s daughter ~

This theory suggests that Shinko could be Ai Chan’s and Shinchan’s future daughter. In one episode, when Shinko visited Shinchan’s school, she met Ai Chan, who noticed their striking resemblance. They even joked about swapping places because they looked so alike.

Another clue is that Ai comes from a wealthy family, and Shinko also seems to be well-off. In a different episode, Shinko told Himawari that her mother is really good. This might mean that Shinko’s mother is quite busy and can’t spend much time with her, possibly because of family business responsibilities.

Black Clouds Mystery ~

Whenever Shinko shows up, there are always dark clouds shaped like coiled feces. Some theories suggest:

1. These black clouds might be the time machines Shinko uses for time travel.

2. The black clouds could be like timers, indicating how long Shinko can stay in the past. In one episode, when the black cloud was disappearing, Shinko mentioned it was time for her to leave.

Café and the Mysterious person~

At the end of some episodes, when Shinko leaves, she goes to a cafe-like place. There, she sits down to eat, and a mysterious person serves her. This person often asks if she has completed her purpose. Only Hiroshi has seen this person when he visited the cafe.

There are speculations regarding this person’s role, with some suggesting that he might be Shinko’s servant. Others believe he plays a crucial part in Shinko’s story and some believe he has a connection to Hiroshi.

Two Puppies ~

Shinko always has two puppies on her head, rolled up like ear warmers, and these two puppies closely resemble Shiro. Some speculate that they might be Shiro’s Children. In the movie “Crayon Shin-chan: Super-Dimension! The Storm Called My Bride,” we saw several of Shiro’s children in the future.

Missions ~

In certain episodes, Shinko’s appearances are linked to specific missions or tasks:

1. In one episode, she rescued Hiroshi from an accident.

2. In another, she resolved a conflict between Nene and Ai-Chan.

3. In yet another episode, when Shinchan planned to eat both puddings given by the neighborhood aunt to him and Himawari, Shinko informed Misae about the pudding.

I mostly watched the dubbed Shinchan, so there might be some dialogue differences. But I’ve done my best to research and provide accurate information.

There are still numerous unanswered questions about Shinko, and we might discover the answers in the future. Just can’t wait to learn more about her character!
