★Striaton Trio ~
In Pokémon Black and White, the Striaton Trio, are the first Gym Leaders player meet in Unova. They run Striaton City’s Gym, which doubles as a restaurant. In the two-year gap between Black/White and Black 2/White 2, they stepped down as Gym Leaders to focus on their training.
●Games (Black/White and Black2/White2)~
First Encounter~
(Black and White) –
The Striaton Gym is the initial Gym player encounter in the Black and White games. It’s led by the Striaton Trio Cilan, Chili and Cress each specialising in Grass, Fire and Water types respectively.
The Gym Leader player faces in Striaton Gym depends on the starter Pokémon choice. Oshawott leads to a battle with Cilan, Tepig leads to Cress, and Snivy leads to Chili.
(Black 2/ White 2) –
In Pokémon Black 2 and White 2, you can only visit Striaton City after becoming a champion. During the two years between Black/White and Black 2/White 2, Cilan and his brothers retired as Gym Leaders to focus on training.
Now, the Gym is a restaurant where you can team up with one of the brothers for a daily Multi Battle against the other two.
Gym Structure ~
(Black and White) –
When player arrives in Striaton City, Clyde blocks the Gym’s entrance. After beating Cheren at the Trainers’ School, Cilan takes over. Inside, there is a café-themed Gym with three rooms behind curtains.
Each room has symbols: a green leaf for Grass, a red flame for Fire, and a blue raindrop for Water. Player must step on the panel that has a type advantage against the symbol displayed on the curtain to open it.
The third room is larger with round tables and chairs on both sides. There’s a platform where the Gym Leaders stand.
(Black 2 and White 2) –
In Pokémon Black 2 and White 2, Striaton Gym retains its restaurant theme but with notable changes. The Gym is accessible only after becoming the Champion. Cilan, Chili, and Cress, who were Gym Leaders in the original games, have retired to focus on training. The Gym has been transformed into a restaurant where player can team up with one of the brothers for a Multi Battle against the other two once per day.
Unlike the puzzle-based Gym in the original games, Striaton Gym in Black 2 and White 2 primarily serves as a location for additional battles rather than a traditional Gym challenge.
